The Montgomery County Office of Public Health in Pennsylvania announced today the temporary closure of Gino’s Ristorante & Pizzeria in West Norriton in relation to a deadly hepatitis A virus outbreak.
County officials say the restaurant will be closed until further notice while the investigation continues.
Authorities believe the outbreak began in late November, and current data suggests that the outbreak “no longer presents a risk.” However, officials are continuing to look into the situation.

In the recent OOR determination in the matter of Zaid v. Upland Borough, OOR Dkt. AP 2021-2961 (Dec. 29, 2021), an appeal was rejected as premature in light of not taking into account the days that the government agency was closed due to the Christmas holiday. Thus, the agency’s 5-day period to respond had not expired at the time of the appeal. But the decision allowed for a new appeal to be filed at the appropriate time.
On December 18, 2021, regulations implementing the Trademark Modernization Act of 2020 went into effect. According to the USPTO’s website, the changes provide individuals, businesses, and the USPTO with “new tools to clear away unused registered trademarks from the federal trademark register” and give the USPTO “the ability to move applications through the registration process more efficiently.”
