Supreme Court Fellowship Program Resumes with 4 New Fellows

Four new U.S. Supreme Court Fellows are set to begin their 2022-2023 fellowships in September. They are the first to experience the program in-person in nearly two years; the COVID-19 pandemic forced the 2020-2021 class to work virtually and led to a decision to pause the program the following year.

Senate committee sets nomination hearing for top food safety official

A committee in the U.S. Senate has finally set a nomination hearing to consider Jose Emilio Esteban for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s top food safety job.

Nominated on Nov. 12, 2021, by President Joe Biden, Esteban is scheduled to go before the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry on Sept. 22. Ferrero passes probation at Salmonella-hit factory

Ferrero has received the all-clear at a factory behind a Salmonella outbreak after no problems were found during the initial approval period.

The company revealed it had been given final authorization for production at the plant in Arlon from the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC) in Belgium.

The court’s newest justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson, omitted information regarding reimbursements and teaching income when she filed her 2014 and 2016 financial disclosures as a federal district court judge. On a newly released disclosure form, Jackson wrote that she “inadvertently omitted” the information from the previous years’ forms.
